From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Van Buren attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned an M.B.A.
Prior to attending graduate business school in 1996, Mr. Van Buren served more than six years in the U.S. Army as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot, with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW2). During his military service, he participated in numerous missions associated with nation building, drug interdiction, air cavalry operations, and medical air evacuation in Central America, Germany, the Middle East and the USA. These experiences are shared in his published book titled “Life Lessons From The Cockpit”, available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Mr. Van Buren holds a B.A. degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, 1988, where he played intercollegiate football, earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors, and held five school records.
I was very fortunate to get to hear Frank Van Buren speak at the orientation for the Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management Analyst program. As a former athlete, I loved the way that Frank was able to relate athletics and his time in the military to work and I have already applied several of his lessons to my day to day. He is an extremely captivating speaker – proven by the fact he was able to capture and connect with 20 young minds after a day full of speakers!
